Flea Pest Control

Once you find fleas, you’ll want to get rid of them quickly to avoid an established infestation. If you spot a problem emerging early enough, there a few things you can try to get rid of fleas.

1. Vacuum thoroughly on carpets, soft furnishings and upholstered furniture. This will get rid of eggs and larvae as well as the adult fleas, but be careful to empty the vacuum away from the house.
2. Use a flea comb to groom your pets regularly and wash their bedding at high temperatures to remove any eggs.
3. Get advice from a vet about what flea treatments to use on your pet and how regularly to apply them.

Our pest control experience has taught us that a single application of insecticide may not be enough as there are some cases where fleas can survive spraying, cleaning and aerosol bombing. In these circumstances, additional highly effective flea treatments will need to be carried out until the infestation is removed.

Control measures must be directed at the brood as well as the adult fleas. Insecticides can be used to treat infested premises and protect them from re-infestation.

In circumstances where other pests such as rodents have been identified as the source of a flea infestation, we will need to control the rodent problem alongside the treatment for the flea infestation.
